Experimenting with lighting

I will need to improve the graphics in lots of earlier images and I was thinking how to use ghost lights for that. For some scenes I am going to replace school uniforms with casual clothing, so I started remaking those.
I am trying several things. Setting environment as Dome and Scene or Scene only. Comparing spot lights with ghost lights. Adjusting exposure value versus ghost light intensity. How to position ghost lights. It's more tricky when there's both indoor and outdoor environment visible (through windows).
I noticed that when I put ball lights on medium height, they can give the impression that lamps from the ceiling are lit.
I am also considering doing more spot renders with higher quality for faces and people in the distance (as long as it doesn't take a lot of extra time).
I will still give priority to progress with the story before remaking older images, because the more I know about the story and the more experience I have, the more I will know what kind of adjustments to make.
I am also going to make a skippable prologue without choices, but I am going to wait with that because I didn't decide yet about which graphic material to use (bedroom or studyroom, additional character ...).
